Is there a way to sell 10.5 shares instead of getting stuck with 0.5 shares in the portfolio? Do you have any advice for Anthony, Shanna? I would say it just depends on the platform that you’re using, whether they allow the sale or purchase of fractional shares.
You could select the choose all or sell all option whenever you go to sell something and see if that gets rid of everything for you. To avoid fractional shares, though, you could have your stocks set to pay dividends into your money market instead of having them reinvest, and that way you won’t potentially end up with those fractional shares.
