Shoshana, there was an interesting headline that caught my attention. I’d love to share it with you: A major city reportedly gives migrants $4,000 cash payments, gift cards, and other incentives to move out of shelters. It’s the largest city in the nation, New York City, offering these benefits to illegal immigrants. The New York City Department of Homeless Services has offered about 150 families $4,000 each through the Asylee Move-Out Assistance Program and $100 in gift cards for necessities and moving expenses. \n\nThat’s not a ton of money, Shanna, but imagine if you’re a suffering American citizen—what you could do with $5,000 total just gifted to you by the government. Yet, the government is prioritizing illegal immigrants instead. These taxpayer-funded payouts are meant to help these immigrants cover security deposits, moving expenses, and first and last month’s rent. What this tells us is that we have a serious problem with an influx in our country. \n\nIt’s not just a peaceful movement of people; this is an influx. What do we make of this? With open borders, which have been open for three and a half years now, we don’t even know how many people have entered this country. Some estimates are 10 million, others 30 million—we just don’t know. And if they give them this money, where are they going to go? If you listen to economic news about housing, you’ll hear that we have a housing shortage in this country, explaining why real estate prices have skyrocketed. \n\nI’ve seen social media flooded with fact checkers now scrutinizing everything. During the debate, moderators fact-checked Donald Trump but ignored Kamala. I’ve seen videos of neighborhoods, some in Ohio, inundated with migrants. For example, in Springfield, Ohio, about 20,000 migrants were placed in a town of 30,000 people. Locals say their leases aren’t being renewed because landlords can get more money from the government, which pays for the immigrants’ housing. \n\nWhat’s going to happen with housing now? Crime is up. I’m seeing numerous videos on social media from independent reporters talking to real people about voting and current conditions. Mainstream media won’t report what’s really happening, focusing only on administration propaganda. It’s clear from our foreign engagements that we prioritize defending other countries’ borders but not our own. We’re spending tons of money on foreign wars to protect other countries’ borders, yet here, prisons are emptied, sending people to the U.S. Their country’s crime rates go down, while ours increase. \n\nImmigrants come here, not because America is the land of opportunity, but because it’s the land of handouts and benefits. They’re asked how much money the government gives them, and they answer candidly. Retail workers say these government cards come with nearly unlimited funds—people spend $500 on groceries and still have $5,000 left on their cards. But I’m proud of Texas’ Governor Greg Abbott. He declared the Venezuelan gang T.D.A. a problem and pledged to use state power against it because the federal government won’t act. Texas laws will crack down on their operations, seizing property and enhancing criminal penalties. \n\nI’m glad at least one politician cares about what’s happening to the people. Yeah, absolutely. And we can only hope more will follow suit. Shannon, it’s hard to grasp that migrant criminals are prioritized over law-abiding citizens. How did this happen, and why is it continuing? It’s because of messed-up priorities; we’ve been convinced we need to let everyone in and pay them to come. Absolutely. So, how does this problem get resolved? That’s the big question. We need to close the border, protect our territory, and require people to remain in Mexico until thoroughly vetted. We need immigration reform to ensure people come here lawfully and assimilate into our society. We must vote for representatives who care about citizens and who will protect us.
