From Godly Counsel to Growth to Diversification,
Celia Helps Investors Honor God with Their Resources
PHILADELPHIA—A financial adviser who operates without a faith-based perspective may have very different advice for clients than a Christian adviser who works to bring glory to God.
Years ago, nationally syndicated host and biblical investing authority Dan Celia, leader of Financial Issues Stewardship Ministries (FISM, www.FinancialIssues.org), wrote down his “10 Commandments for Investing,” and over three decades, has stayed true to these principles as he has helped people of faith honor God with their finances and be free from a fear of money.
“The goal of a Christian financial investor who seeks to honor God in everything should first and foremost build upon a foundation of biblical principles and help investors stand firm on this foundation as well,” Celia said. “Far too many people make investment decisions without a sound foundation or knowledge of basic principles. Decisions need to be made that honor God and are not speculative, while developing a conservative, prudent strategy for the money with which God has entrusted to us.”
Celia lists 10 concepts that both advisers and investors should take to heart as they consider how to work with the resources God has provided:
- God Owns It All
- Without Counsel, Plans Fail
- Little by Little, Wealth Grows
- Investments Should Not be Offensive to God
- Are You Really Diversified?
- Principles of Your Allocation
- Risk, Reward and Time
- When to Carefully Buy and Sell
- When to Sensibly Buy and Hold
- How to Diversify
Celia discusses global and economic headlines on his daily, three-hour “Financial Issues” program, heard on more than 650 radio stations nationwide and reaching millions of households through several TV networks.
